Trinidad Carnival Through the Lens of Maria Nunes

 Maria Nunes

Maria Nunes

This week Trinidad and Tobago hosted the largest Carnival in the Caribbean and one of the most known and imitated Carnivals and street parades. We have decided to showcase the work of Maria Nunes, a photographer from Trinidad and Tobago with special interests in capturing imagery related to the performing arts and in documenting cultural heritage, especially traditional Carnival portrayals. Below you can get a taste of the festivities and visit her site for more work.  The images focus on traditional mas, award winning designer Peter Minshall and costumed moko jumbies (stilt walkers). Hope you enjoy the images and see you in Trinidad 2019.
